CU + Reclaim Today Inspires Students to Explore the Bible’s Relevance

News Dec. 16, 2022

Cornerstone University is one of the nation’s first Christian colleges to partner with Reclaim Today, a college age, accessible e-devotional/discipleship outreach through Our Daily Bread Ministries, to help students engage with God and scripture and to understand the Bible’s relevance in their daily lives.

Barna’s recent research shows only 6% of Americans hold a Biblical worldview and Gallup research in 2022 shows a record high 50% of Americans rate morals in the United States as “poor.”  And, as colleges and universities in recent decades either openly reject Christian faith principles as irrelevant or simply distance themselves from Christian theology, Cornerstone and Reclaim Today want to show students how God’s vision for their lives reflected in scripture is not only relevant, but essential to live a flourishing life.

During a recent presentation on campus, Daniel Day, director of Reclaim Today, highlighted significant research findings on Gen Z and Millennials that explain how students commonly struggle with questions about purpose, truth, knowledge, anxiety, loneliness, friendships and more broadly, how the Bible and God are relevant in their lives.

Addressing these issues and more, CU+Reclaim Today now offers a fresh, scripturally grounded devotional tool that connects students’ felt needs to scripture.  Students can easily access content in two ways:  1) weekly beautifully curated, topical devotions consistently delivered by email and 2) explore the same topics and tools as part of CU’s growing Encounter Groups that allow students to share and grow together.  Each devotion is focused on issues of importance identified by college students and the EG groups facilitate open discussions, questions, and mutual exploration.  Over 26 Encounter Groups launched this fall with momentum to quickly expand across campus.

CU is committed to helping students live lives of purpose.  Developing practical, Christ-centered spiritual formation tools that will serve them for a lifetime is a priority! And partnering with Reclaim Today’s compelling content helps CU students grow more deeply in Christ.
