Dr. Rhonda White
Chair of the Teacher Education Division
Assistant Professor of Education

I love the countless opportunities that students and professors have to engage with one another. We are able to talk openly about our faith in Christ. We can forge genuinely meaningful relationships with one another.

When I'm able to have that kind of relationship with one of my students, I have the opportunity to play an active role in helping her allow God to transform her into the person that he intended her to be. This is what motivates me to come to campus every day and honor the Lord with my work.

I'm most passionate about teaching and instilling Christian values, purpose, dignity and decency in my students so they may bring about positive change in the world.

I rejoice in walking on this campus every day. Cornerstone is different from other universities in its ability to reach out and influence the greater society in both spiritual and tangible ways.

Dr. White encourages students to make a difference by:

  • mentoring children in the Grand Rapids area in after-school programs
  • being involved in discipleship groups
  • participating in the Leaders for Life program
  • finding a church near campus and getting involved in service opportunities
  • tutoring other Cornerstone students who need help writing papers or studying for difficult classes
