Kayleigh Putnam
Hometown: Cedar Springs, Mich.
Major: Business Management

At Cornerstone I have been challenged to develop my leadership abilities. From my freshman year in Leadership Journey I was allowed to experience leading, not just taught about it.

During my sophomore year I led a team of students to volunteer at Urban Family Ministries in downtown Grand Rapids each week. All of my leadership knowledge has been influenced by my hands-on experiences.

In high school I relied on my own strength to get things done. At Cornerstone I have been taught how to depend on God and work with others as a team to develop my character to be a servant leader.

Kayleigh has been involved in the following campus opportunities during her first year at Cornerstone:

  • participating in Leadership Journey
  • was a sherpa for Leadership Journey
  • served as a visit coordinator for the Admissions Office
  • was vice president of student activities for student government
  • played intramural volleyball, basketball and soccer
  • went on a mission trip to Costa Rica
  • was in the inaugural class of Sigma Delta (an honor business club for the top 20 percent of business students)
