JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse (Part-time / 10 months per year) DATE: January 2012

SUMMARY
The ideal candidate would be an individual who is able to work independently (without a provider) using their critical thinking and assessment skills, as well as following RN protocols to evaluate and triage patients and provide an appropriate treatment plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned
• Must be able use critical thinking skills to work independently, following RN protocols with excellent assessment and documentation
• Provide assessment and treatment of injuries, illness and preventative measures
• Provide patient care as often as availability allows or is necessary pending severity of the situation
• Work with providers to maintain patient flow, assist in procedures and execute/follow RN protocols.
• Provide health education programs to patients, classrooms, or seminars to the general campus population as necessary
• Assist in 24/7 phone coverage as needed
• Oversee admission Health Requirements (ie. Immunization status)
• Oversea GO trip health consults and immunization requirements
• Assist in managing Laboratory CLIA/OSHA requirements
• Coordinate Foundations of Wellness blood draws
• Be available to consult with other departments on health related issues and concerns

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred; minimum Associates degree in Nursing
• 2 years of college health experience preferred
• Knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft office suite
• Ability to be creative and organized

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Nurse License in the State of Michigan
• BLS Certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Personal faith in Jesus Christ as one’s Savior and Lord demonstrated by an active Christian commitment
• Desire to serve Christ within a growing and increasingly complex Christian University
• A theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University evidenced by an ability to affirm and sign the university’s doctrinal statement, “The Cornerstone Confession”
